Water filters are useful for more than just making household tap water tasty. In commercial industries there are water filters made with specific applications in mind. From carbon filters to water softeners, reverse osmosis to distillers, just about any kind of commercial everpure water filtration system can be found.
Carbon filters are most commonly used to restore pure taste and remove odors. The contaminants stick to the carbon particles. It is also known for cleaning out chlorine residue and some organic issues like pesticides.
Water softeners will reduce the amount/concentration of calcium, magnesium, and ions. In general the softening reduces the chances of limescale build-up and corrosion. However, those who need to balance sodium levels should consider alternatives like reverse osmosis.
Reverse osmosis filters, like many everpure water filters, are commonly used in industries for water purification. They put liquids of different concentrations into different components. The water will then pass through a semi-permeable membrane to an area of higher concentration. The membrane does not allow ions or large molecules through, therefore purifying the one side.
Water distillation heat water to create steam. The cooled and condensed air that becomes the cold water will be purified of minerals. This option is very aggressive as drinking water though as the pure water will absorb good minerals from whatever it comes in contact with.
No matter which you choose, be sure you are using it to most benefit your industry or business. Obviously some filters work better than others in certain situations.
